Use Focus

Plan your day with events, deadlines, and tasks — Crafty tells you what to work on right now.

Page Updated: 03 Mar 2026

Focus is your planning and productivity hub. It manages three types of items — events (time-boxed), deadlines (due dates with effort estimates), and backlog tasks (a prioritised to-do list) — and tells you what needs your attention right now.

Getting started

  1. Navigate to Focus from the sidebar.
  2. The page has three views: Now, Tasks, and Calendar. Use the tabs at the top to switch between them.

Now View

The Now View shows the single highest-priority item you should be working on. Priority order: active events first, then the most urgent deadline, then the highest-priority backlog task.

  • Deadlines display a risk level based on available work hours vs effort needed: green (on track), yellow (tight), orange (at risk), or red (overdue).
  • Actions: Mark as Done, Snooze (15 min, 1 hour, or tomorrow), Defer to a specific date, Lower priority, or Delete.
  • Break down: Let Crafty AI split a large task into smaller, actionable subtasks.
  • Let AI handle it: Delegate the task to an AI agent, which creates a Scheduled Task that runs automatically.

Tasks View

See all your items in a list grouped by type (events, deadlines, backlog).

  • Click + to create a new item. Choose the type, set a title, description, dates, effort estimate, and priority.
  • Drag and drop backlog items to reorder them by priority.
  • Toggle Show completed to view or hide finished items.

Calendar View

A visual week or month calendar showing your events and deadlines.

  • Click a day to create a new event on that date.
  • Connect Google Calendar to sync your events. Click the calendar settings icon and follow the prompts to link your account.

Voice Planning

Use the Voice Plan button to create tasks by speaking. Crafty asks clarifying questions about timing, effort, and priority, then generates focus items from your description automatically.

Risk Assessment

Deadlines show risk levels calculated from your effort estimate compared to available work hours (weekdays, roughly 8 am to 6 pm). The risk panel on the Now View lists all upcoming deadlines with their current status so you can spot problems early.

Tips

  • Set effort estimates on deadlines for accurate risk calculation.
  • Use Snooze to temporarily hide items you cannot work on right now.
  • Break down large tasks into subtasks to track progress step by step.
  • Attach Interest folders to items for extra context when AI processes them.

Troubleshooting

  • Nothing showing in Now View? Create some items in the Tasks tab first.
  • Risk levels seem wrong? Update the effort estimate on the deadline and check your event calendar for conflicts.
  • Google Calendar not syncing? Re-connect from the Calendar view settings.
